Saturday 30th November 2019 @ Slim Jim's
Doors 8pm to 10pm - Free entry Frontier Station are bringing their sepia, old-time groove to Slim Jim's Liquor Store for a night of sweeping London Folk Rock. Expect soulful heart-wrenchers, cries of desperation, devil-may-care shindigs and just a spoonful of rakish charm. If you like old brickwork, black and white films, waltzing by lantern-light and old-fashioned romance, then this is the evening for you.
Frontier Station are a London-based folk rock band with an old-time twist. Taking cues from Bruce Springsteen, Fleetwood Mac and The Decemberists, they've a vibrant and rousing sound with a storyteller's edge. Their music drenched in harmonies and harmonicas, with guitars that cascade like distant foghorns and drums that pound like locomotive pistons. They spin tales of miners, gargoyles, immortals and steeple jacks, in the shell of a Victorian steelworks by the glow of a flickering gaslamp...they're pretty into imagery.
